Blake Rowe is a pianist, composer, singer-songwriter and music educator whose home is in the Hudson Valley. Having both parents who were professional actors, his songs and performance have the feel of musical theater, combined with the humor and satire of Randy Newman and Tom Lehrer. His songs also come from the heart and speak to our collective stories of love, loss and remembrance. A trained classical pianist, he brings a deep musicianship to his original material.
In 2017 Blake began a weekly concert series of entirely improvised music in his home. Friends and neighbors came by and enjoyed 45 minutes of music, composed on the spot on a Steinway piano. The music was recorded and published as a podcast entitled Piano Meditations (not available on Spotify).
